Canada Express Entry

With the beginning of year 2015, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada introduced a new application management system for the economic stream immigrants i.e. known as Express Entry. Express Entry is not a new immigration program but it is a new application management system for the Department of Immigration – Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to better manage the applications for permanent residence to Canada.

Candidates, who are eligible under one of the following federal economic immigration programs, can apply under Express Entry:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

Candidate must meet the minimum eligibility criteria having scored the pass marks i.e. 67 points on the selection point’s grid. Qualifying candidates will be able to submit an Expression of Interest by submitting their Express Entry profile to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada after which they can enter to the pool of Express Entry candidates.

Good news is that there is no deadline to complete and submit an Express Entry profile and there are no caps on the number of candidates that will be acknowledged to the Express Entry pool. Candidates can receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence (ITA) on the basis of their profile and the ranking points achieved in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) once accepted into the pool of Express Entry candidates.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada selects and invites the potential candidates through their draw system; they call it rounds of invitations. IRCC conducts rounds of invitations regularly (every fortnight) under which they announce a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) cut-off score. Potential candidates with similar or higher CRS score than that of the CRS cut-off receive the invitation to apply for permanent residence (ITA) instantly.

Having received the ITA, potential candidates need to submit their permanent residence application online with the required documentation within 60 days. IRCC strives to process complete PR applications within 6 months only. Getting Canadian permanent residency is now possible in a much faster way that is why this process is known as Express Entry.

Low ranking candidates can also enhance their overall CRS score by having a valid job offer from a registered Canadian employer accompanied by an approved LMIA (Labor Market Impact Assessment) OR a provincial nomination.

A Job offer OR a Provincial Nomination are however not mandatory but they surely enhance the chances of success by increasing the ranking of the prospective candidate by 50 percent straight away and it helps the candidate get the permanent residency in a very expeditious manner.

An Express Entry profile is valid for 12 months after submission. Once expired, it can further be submitted to stay in the Express Entry pool for next 12 months. You have to pay nothing to submit your Express Entry profile and there is no restriction on the number of profile submissions.

Canada Immigration – How to cope up with Cultural Change

Canada is a country that welcomes one and all with open arms. There is an air of multiculturalism, freedom and endless opportunities for each of those who plan to come here to test the waters.

Education knows no bounds with the world class facilities, options and course structures for the students.

There are people from all walks of life from across the globe who come to Canada to study and to later build it into their home.

There certainly are great advantages for studying in Canada.

But as it is, the students on stepping out from their nations can feel a little under pressure due to the moderate cultural change. Such a felling is not only natural, but also expected and accepted.

Choosing a good consultancy firm helps you in deciding the wayward in situations as such. They not only suggest the proper means to approach a situation like this but effective ways to find your way out and get a better adjustment to the new life.

Seven Seas education Consultancy with its leading name in the sector draws a trail of success stories in not only helping individuals find their way to their dream colleges with the best courses but also in adjusting and getting ahead with comfort as well.

There are many ways international students can deal with the cultural adjustments required in a new country. Some of which are:

No culture is fit to be judged!- This means that once you come to Canada, there will be many things that might make you think and compare it with where your native country is. Avoiding such comparisons is always the best. When there is nothing labelled as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ everything is becomes acceptable. It is okay to tag something ‘different’ but abstinence from branding it unpleasant goes a long way.

Mistakes should be permitted: Just as the international students attempt to make adjustments in a new environment, so do the others who form a majority in getting to know you.And the sooner that there is an acceptance that both the sides are bound to make their fair share of errors, it is better to give room to follies.

Anxiety is acceptable: Whenever an individual hits any new phase of life, anxiety is not only hard to avoid but is increasingly highly expected and acceptable. So as new students in a new environment, give yourself the space to feel what your mind wants to feel and believe and then you shall feel more free and able to do anything.

Observe and Ask!: Be observant to the cultural nuances of the place, it not only helps you get better acquainted with the mannerisms of where you are headed to but also leads to faster adjustment in you. And always remember the golden rule, the one who couldn’t understand and asked is always better than the one who couldn’t understand but instead chose to stay quite.

Adjustment is a gradual process and takes its own time, but as and when your acceptability increases so does the pace and comfort. Canada is a beautiful nation and there is so much to achieve, so stop at nothing!
